GED Reasoning Through Language Arts Practice Test
The GED Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) test evaluates your reading comprehension, writing skills, and ability to analyze and use language effectively. This practice test contains 30 questions that reflect the content and format of the actual GED RLA examination.
GED RLA Test Content Areas
The Reasoning Through Language Arts section covers:
- Reading Comprehension (60-75%): Understanding main ideas, supporting details, inferences, author's purpose, and text analysis
- Language and Writing (25-40%): Grammar, usage, mechanics, sentence structure, and text revision
Reading Text Types
- Literary Texts (75%): Fiction, poetry, drama, and prose written before 1900, from 1900-1945, and after 1945
- Informational Texts (25%): Workplace documents, community and historical documents, and nonfiction related to science and social studies
You'll have 150 minutes to complete the test, which includes 46 multiple-choice questions and one essay. The test is administered in three sections with breaks between them.
